The Unite union has rejected all the government’s proposed changes to the NHS Agenda for Change national agreement on pay and conditions.
The proposals include removing one of the two pay progressions for new nurses, and linking other incremental pay rises to performance.
Unite criticised plans for “divide and rule” performance-related pay and to abolish unsocial hours payments when workers are off sick.
The ballot of Unison, the largest union in the NHS, finished on Tuesday of this week. Results from the Royal College of Nursing consultation are expected soon.
