Employment Tribunal win for PCS activist Finola Kelly

Trade union activist Finola Kelly has won an Employment Tribunal case against the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).

Finola is PCS branch vice chair at the EHRC. She played a leading role in organising strikes against cuts and outsourcing last year.

Her director colluded with senior managers to block her from returning to her post from an internal secondment unless she dropped all her union activities. She refused.

The employment judge held that she had been penalised solely for her trade union activities and awarded her £25,000 compensation.
