Train cleaners coordinate disputes against poverty pay

Train cleaners across Britain were set to strike this week against poverty pay and poor conditions.

They are members of the RMT union. The workers are

  • Tyne & Wear Metro cleaners on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday

  • Carlisle Cleaning workers for Transpennine Express on Friday and Saturday

  • ISS Bletchley and Northampton cleaners on Friday and Saturday

  • ISS East Coast cleaners on Friday and Saturday

  • Initial and ISS cleaners on London Underground on Friday and Saturday

  • Carlisle Cleaning and Security workers on the Docklands Light Railway on Thursday and Friday.

The RMT cleaners are holding a pre-strike rally on Thursday 29 November, 7pm, at Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL


Stirling signallers strike over shifts

Train signallers in Stirling were set to strike on Saturday of this week to demand 12 hour shifts. They are members of the RMT union.


RMT suspends Tube Lines action

The RMT union suspended a strike over pensions and travel passes by engineering workers on London underground last week.


2,500 to strike on London’s buses

Some 2,500 bus workers were set to strike over pay in Tottenham, north London, and Hackney, east London on Thursday of this week. They are members of the Unite union at Arriva North buses.
