Striking Spanish miners were set to arrive in Madrid late on Tuesday night of this week.
Three delegations left the mining regions of Asturias, Leon and Teruel in northern Spain last month to march to the capital. People have welcomed the miners and given them food and donations along the routes.
The miners have been on strike since the end of May after the government slashed coal subsidies. This would decimate the industry and the mining regions.
On Friday of last week marching miners clashed with police trying to block their route in the north western town of Caborana.
Workers and students are travelling to Madrid to stand in solidarity with the miners against the right wing government.
