Teamsters go global against Sotheby’s lockout

Art handlers from Sotheby’s auction house in New York protested outside the company’s London premises on Thursday of last week.
The Teamster union members joined up to 100 others on the noisy protest as wealthy art buyers filed into the auction house.
They were angry about the lockout of 42 Sotheby’s workers in New York, which started on 29 July.
Dorian Malloy, who has worked at Sotheby’s for seven years, spoke to Socialist Worker. “Two and half months we’ve been locked out,” he said. “We’ll protest at every event they have. We’ve had a lot of sympathy because union-busting seems to be worldwide.”
