Hundreds of IT workers at the Fujitsu firm are balloting for strikes over pay.
The PCS union members join struggling Unite union members at the company in Crewe and Manchester.
They are in dispute over the victimisation of a union rep and attacks on the union.
Almost 750 PCS members work on contracts for five government departments and agencies.
Fujitsu has either met or exceeded performance targets on these contracts this year. Some senior managers have grabbed over £14,000 in bonuses.
Despite this, the company is refusing to agree a pay offer that means rises of between just 1.5 and 2.5 percent for workers. This is far less than the rate of inflation.
Fujitsu has also reneged on its commitment to introduce a structured pay progression system.
PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka said, “While senior managers are pocketing bonuses in excess of what some of our members earn in a year, it’s not only wrong, it’s offensive for Fujitsu to claim it can’t afford to increase pay.”
Unite members at Crewe have struck in support of the company singling out rep Alan Jenney for redundancy.
Members at the Manchester site are also balloting for strikes over this and other issues in a ballot that closes on 1 September.
