Join the protest for NUJ's Charles Atangana

Charles Atangana, currently detained in Dover Immigration Removal Centre, has a bail hearing on Thursday this week. Charles has lived in Britain since 2004 having been forced to flee Cameroon after detention and threats over his journalism.

A journalist was killed in custody in Cameroon this April.

Activists are now redoubling their efforts to ensure Charles is not deported.

• Come to the protest at the bail hearing on Thursday 12 August at 2pm, Taylor House, 88 Rosebery Avenue, EC1R 4QU.
• Make a donation. The NUJ union is asking people to send donations to Charles. He does not have much money and needs clothes, food and toiletries.
• Please make cheques payable to the NUJ but make sure you state the money is for Charles Atangana and send to the NUJ Finance Department, Headland House, 308-312 Gray's Inn Road, London, WC1X 8DP,
• Please email messages of support or reasons why you think Charles should be allowed to stay to campaigns@nuj.org.uk The union will let Charles know about your support and may use messages in NUJ publicity materials.
