Home Grown: The Story of UK Hip Hop
This innovative exhibition charts the development of the British hip-hop scene over the last three decades.
It shows how a generation took black music from Northern US cities and fused this with their own experiences to create music of their own.
Through installations and music, Home Grown charts the influence of British hip-hop.
It marks how it has changed over the last 30 years.
To coincide with the exhibition, acclaimed documentary maker Richard Fontaine will present two of his films about British hip-hop – Beat This! A Hip Hop History and Bombin’ – on Friday 13 November at the Cornerhouse cinema in Manchester.
