Sellafield

CONTRACT workers involved in a dispute over bonuses continued picketing as they struck for the third week running at Sellafield last week. The workers rejected on Tuesday an offer of a 73p per hour increase from their employers, Salamis. The picketing has caused massive traffic hold-ups so many workers arrive late for work. Management has used this as an excuse to dock the wages of some of those still working. Workers are discussing holding a mass meeting to consider whether other contractors should strike over that and in support of the pickets.
