Anti Nazi League

LOCAL PEOPLE, mobilised by the Anti Nazi League (ANL), forced the Nazi National Front (NF) to cancel a march in East Anglia on Saturday of last week. The Nazis had tried to march in support of Tony Martin, the farmer who was jailed for murdering a 16 year old intruder. But the Anti Nazi League got a statement from Martin's solicitor disowning the Nazis. The ANL organised an electric 180-strong meeting in Norwich. Over 100 people joined an ANL protest in Norwich and 60 people rallied in Ipswich on Saturday to prevent the NF showing up.

NF leader Terry Blackham admitted the counter-protests had forced him to call off their march. He said, "The Anti Nazi League have said they are going to turn up wherever we go and we have decided to change our tactics." The National Front was planning to march in Hastings against asylum seekers on Saturday.

  • SOME 45 people came to a meeting in Prestwich, Manchester, last week to protest against a recent Nazi attack on a Jewish cemetery.
